hot tips

ADD VALUE TO YOUR BUSINESS TO RETAIN EMPLOYEES

The New Year period is traditionally a time when people reconsider their career path and look around for new opportunities.

Warning signs your staff are actively looking for a new position may include needing time off for appointments, taking sick leave, a sudden change in appearance; they are suddenly impeccably dressed or you notice a negative attitude from a normally happy employee.

There are numerous ways to help retain your current staff and these could include anything from ongoing training to a reward and recognition scheme.

Factors that are important to employees include:

• Staff management
• Performance management
• Career development
• Training
• Multi-skilling
• Flexible work arrangements
• Incentives
• Pay design
• Employment contracts

CANDIDATES ARE GOING QUICKLY

There is still a skills shortage, which is to remain into the foreseeable future and we are noticing that quality candidates are finding positions within a matter of days.

If you interview a candidate make sure all the decision makers are available on the day of the interview and that if you think the person is suitable you make a decision quickly or risk missing out on a potential asset to your company.

We have seen too many disappointed clients who are not quick to make a prompt decision.
